Phono Solar Invited to Nepal Solar Week 2019 to Seize Emerging Markets in Southeast Asia

2019-03-06

Recently, Nepal Solar Week 2019 was held ceremoniously. As the largest solar energy event in Nepal, it gathered more than 100 professionals from government agencies, project developers, solar EPC companies, investors, equipment manufacturers, service/technology suppliers, and financial institutions. The event started a series of in-depth discussions on the development of the solar energy industry, such as the fast-developing EPC business model, financial structure, changing business scenes, new opportunities, technological progress and policy development. Phono Solar was invited to this event.

As the world's leading manufacturer of high-performance products, Phono Solar offers a large number of energy-related products and technical information to Nepal, helping the local government significantly improve its grid coverage, and providing ideas and inspiration for its PV development planning and policy formulation. With its outstanding contribution to Nepal's PV development, Phono Solar was the Gold Award Winner in the category of solar module company of 2018 - Utility Solar.

Although Nepal is rich in mineral, water and light resources, it has always been one of the least developed traditional agricultural countries in the world, with the poor accounting for over 30% of the population and living water below the international average. At present, the shortage of electricity caused by insufficient power stations is the main problem restricting the improvement of Nepal's infrastructure. Its power supply system can only meet the electricity demand of 40% of the population in Nepal. In October and December of each year, Kathmandu, Nepal's most economically developed city, has a power outage of up to 6 hours every day.

It was not until early 2018 that China-aided rooftop PV power stations in 20 important national departments, including Nepal's Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were completed and put into operation, with a total installed capacity of about 1.008 megawatts. After grid-connected power generation, it is estimated that the average annual power generation will reach about 1,373,600 kWh, supplying enough electricity to the Prime Minister's Office and other important government agencies. The success of this project has also made the government of Nepal firmly determined to support the development of PV industry.

Phono Solar has been committed to creating a "new business card" for China's high-end PV manufacturing, providing the world with quality, efficient and reliable products. Recently, some module products from Phono Solar have successfully passed India’s BIS certification. This means that after all-round rigorous testing, Phono Solar modules have met many Indian testing standards in terms of high quality and safety, thus officially entering the Indian market. This is the second time that Phono Solar was highly recognized in the international market for his excellent quality after passing the Korean KS certification.

"Under the Belt and Road Initiative, the cooperation between China and Nepal will bring new opportunities for Nepal's development. With its rich experience in overseas trade, Phono Solar is bound to make great achievements in Nepal. In the whole Southeast Asia region, Phono Solar has already deployed an international production, marketing and service system, with the focus on creating an integrated transnational product supply chain and providing customers with more efficient and quality module products through multiple channels," said the head of Southeast Asian markets at Phono Solar International Business Center.
